Ophelia, a current management trainee in third rotation, shares her unique experiences on the HORIZONS Retail program.

Ophelia, can you share what drew you to Louis Vuitton and the HORIZONS program?
As a child, I dreamed of building a career in fashion. My interest in luxury brands grew stronger over the years, evolving into a true passion. After completing my degree in International Business in Hong Kong, joining Louis Vuitton felt like the right step to take. The HORIZONS Retail program particularly appealed to me with its approach and exposure across diverse roles within the Maison.

How are the rotations in the program structured?
The program is thoughtfully crafted to immerse us in various aspects of retail. I started at the Hong Kong Landmark store, focusing on building relationships with local clients. Then, I joined the Client Development team, taking part in an unforgettable experience attending the Paris fashion show with my clients. Now, in my final rotation at the Pacific Place Store, I’m stepping into leadership responsibilities.

How have you navigated any challenges along the way?
Starting at Pacific Place was initially challenging, as many of my colleagues had over a decade of experience with the store. My main goal was to earn their trust as a new graduate and focus on understanding their expertise, offering support whenever possible. Over time, these efforts helped me establish credibility and feel truly integrated.

Looking ahead, where do you see your career evolving?
I’m excited about the opportunity of becoming a team manager in retail. I enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, where I can work closely with clients and watch the direct impact of my efforts unfold. The dynamic challenges, combined with the opportunity to build meaningful relationships, make retail an incredibly rewarding career path for me.

What advice would you give to someone considering the HORIZONS Retail program?
This program is a fantastic way to start your career. It’s immersive, well structured, and provides exposure to both client-facing roles and behind-the-scenes operations. Take the leap—you won’t regret it!

JasonNew

Jason first joined Louis Vuitton as a Client Advisor in 2022, applying to the HORIZONS program 2023 edition.

Jason, what first drew you to retail at Louis Vuitton?
Virgil Abloh was the starting point for me. His ability to blend streetwear and luxury was inspiring, and my first Louis Vuitton product was from his collection. I joined the House as a Client Advisor in 2022 and applied for the HORIZONS program a year later: it was an incredible opportunity to grow, discovering new environments and métiers.

What have you experienced on your rotations so far?
I completed my first 6-month retail rotation in Macau before joining the Hong Kong regional communications team. This was a standout experience helping organize major events like Hong Kong Savoir Faire which gave me exposure to different departments that I was curious about and broadened my understanding of the House. For my final rotation I am back in Macau at the prestigious Four Seasons store.

How did you adapt to each new environment throughout the program?
Each time I began a new rotation, it was important to quickly grasp the team dynamics and customer base, for stores. I applied the same mindset I had developed playing basketball, one of my passions - where success depends on learning how to work with different teammates and adjusting strategies to the situation. In basketball, you need to trust your team and play to each member's strengths. Similarly, at Louis Vuitton, I focus on building relationships, understanding the local market and making sure I contribute to the team’s success as a whole.

Based on your HORIZONS experience, what have you observed as being important success factors in retail?
For me, people are the most important element in our stores. The environment we build together at Louis Vuitton is key – there is a shared energy and a strong team spirit. Everyone has different interests and backgrounds, but we are all passionate about what we do.

How would you describe the HORIZONS experience overall?
It’s both dynamic and challenging. You move between roles and locations, constantly learning. The program pushes you out of your comfort zone and every stage offers exceptional growth opportunities.
