Louis Vuitton FOR UNICEF: follow the LV Reporters to India
Since 2016, Louis Vuitton has been working with UNICEF to promote children's rights around the world. Through the proceeds of the Silver Lockit collection and its employees’ participation, the Maison has raised more than 22 million euros to help the most vulnerable children and their families.
In 2023, six LV Reporters were selected from employees throughout the world as spokespeople for the positive impact of the UNICEF programmes supported by Louis Vuitton’s donations. Sonia, Herman, Yasmina, Benoit, Jesse and Ai were named to become ambassadors of the partnership and travelled to meet some beneficiaries of UNICEF-supported programmes in India.
On the first day, our LV Reporters visited one of the nursery school centers that the government has established throughout the country to discover supplementary nutrition methods used in order to combat child malnutrition. They visited the Bangalore Nutritional Rehabilitation Centre to understand how children are assisted in severe malnutrition situations, and how UNICEF helps train medical staff.
The next day, our LV Reporters spent time with children at an elementary school based on the Nali-Kali method. They observed the benefits of this method, which encourages learning through play in classes of some twenty children each, inspiring children to learn and to continue their education in their later years, as well as stimulating their learning. UNICEF plays a key role in the educational content and design of this initiative.
To round out the trip, our LV Reporters spent the last day at an innovative laboratory where teenagers have the opportunity to create technical and digital prototypes and express their innovative ideas with the help of supervisors. The program has the objective to give children a wider perspective on career opportunities and inspire them to continue their education. Speaking with the students, our LV Reporters shared their career paths and professional experiences.
Sonia, Herman, Yasmina, Benoit, Jesse and Ai participated in this field visit in order to promote involvement in the Louis Vuitton community and to raise awareness of UNICEF's missions around the world.
