Unveiled in June 2018 on a rainbow-infused runway in the Palais-Royal gardens in Paris, Virgil Abloh’s début collection as newly appointed artistic director of Louis Vuitton’s menswear is being showcased in a pop-up store at Chrome Hearts, January 10-17, 2019.
Located at NYC’s West Village, the temporary residency combines chic elegance with urban adventure. For customers, it’s an exclusive opportunity to shop crisp tailored pieces, along with casual ready-to-wear, shoes, leather goods and multicolored accessories from the Louis Vuitton Menswear Spring/Summer 2019 collection.
For the teams who’ve been readying the project for the past few months, it’s the culmination of a unique experience. Marisa, from Vuitton’s Saks NY store: “This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and a monumental moment for Louis Vuitton. I wanted to be a part of that moment.” Monique, Client Advisor at West Farms, is no less enthusiastic: “I had to raise my hand for this because ‘why not?! Why not dare to explore? Why not dare to challenge yourself? Why not dare to be epic?”.
Some of the team have come a long way to prepare for the launch, including Kenny, Client Advisor, from Boston Copley: “I feel so blessed to be a part of this experience and this amazing hand-picked team. So much adrenaline is going through me right now! I expect to meet a widely diverse mix of incredible people” – which is probably one of the most thrilling aspects of an experience like this. And Mili, Client Advisor at Vuitton’s Fifth Avenue store, sums it up neatly: “I think I’m walking into the unknown, so I’m really excited”.
