The Merchandising Assistant (VIE) is an integral member of the Merchandising team in Louis Vuitton Americas. This team member will be responsible for three high visibility and impact projects: 1) leading in-depth competitive research focused on key initiatives and launches taking place in the Americas to provide monthly updates to the Merchandising Team and VP of Merchandising; 2) partnering with Merchandising Managers to redefine communications with Retail, considering the format, cadence, and content; 3) mastering PowerBI and reworking Merchandising reports to make them more relevant and streamlined. 



  • Actively monitor competition initiatives and launches across all genders/categories in the luxury industry. Maintain and share a running recap that includes competitors’ trends, pricing, events, and brand moments happening in the Americas. Regularly present findings to the Merchandising Team.


  • Partner with Merchandising Managers to redefine communications with Retail, considering the format, cadence, and content
  • Deep dive to understand how Merchandising information is being used by Retail, as well as when, what, and how it is best communicated to be most effective
  • Partner with Merchandising, Retail, Regional Merchandisers, and Internal Communications to create new templates for weekly merchandising newsletter, product feedback forms, product tools, company intranet management etc.


  • Become a expert in PowerBI, with the proficiency to create and manipulate dashboards
  • Partner with Business Performance, Merchandising Managers, and Supply Chain to redefine Merchandising reports, ensuring they are streamlined but relevant for the needs of the business
  • Refresh / modify dashboards as needed


  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong product sensibility, ability to develop knowledge of competitive landscape & trends. Passion for the industry and knowledge of luxury product and retail
  • Exceptional computer skills required, including advanced Excel (functions, formulas, macros, vlookups, pivots) and PowerPoint (advanced formatting, design)
  • Outstanding communication, influence skills (verbal, written, and presentation) and negotiation skills
  • Organized & detail-oriented
  • Sense of urgency is critical
  • Must be resourceful, a problem-solver & team player
  • Self-starter, ability to take initiative, ownership, and accountability for their work
  • Drives for results, commercial mindse
