Due to promotion, our atelier in Alvarado, TX is currently seeking a Production Planner to join our team.  In this role you will be responsible for building and analyzing the production plan and following through its execution to fulfill our customer’s needs.  This role reports to the Supply Chain and Logistics Director. 

Profile

Short Term Planning:

  • Validate the available hours on the short-term horizon with the Planning Manager/Supply Chain Director
  • Launch production work orders on a weekly basis
  • Ensure material availability before launching work orders with the collaboration of the purchasing team
  • Reschedule work in progress (WIP) to manage unexpected events
  • Align production targets with customer’s needs in collaboration with the production team
  • Promote and distribute production reliability key performance indicators
  • Participate to applicable daily production meeting and communicate priorities
  • Follow-up daily, by assembly line, of the work in progress already released to the floor and prioritize
  • Launch production kits according to the production line requirements on a daily basis
  • Report results on actual vs. committed goals for the day
  • Utilize various tools (order management system), production planning software, optimization model and data repositories to make production decisions
  • Ensure proper finished goods inventory
  • Identify trends utilizing analytical skills and tools
  • Develop and maintain production schedule based with client demand

Medium/Long Term Planning:

  • Propose recommendations on the evolution of the product portfolio
  • Maintain the required headcount in order to balance the production plan
  • Follow up on product developments to ensure successful “start of sales” dates
  • Lead and/or participate to applicable product development meetings
  • Validate the production plan on a weekly basis

Communication and Miscellaneous:

  • Act as the liaison between LVUSM and the industrial team in Paris headquarters
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and other duties as assigned or dictated by business needs

Additional information

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management or related field
  • 3-5 years relevant experience in manufacturing or supply chain environment
  • Master’s Degree or Certification in Supply Chain Management is a plus
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Sound knowledge of supply chain processes and procedures including manufacturing planning,
  • demand and replenishment processes
  • Excellent knowledge of ERP and MRP systems
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to reason and influence at all levels
  • Knowledge of product development is preferred
  • Proven people skills required, must have ability to work cross-functionally with others while
  • effectively handling internal production pressures
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proven people skills required, must have ability to work cross-functionally while effectively handling internal pressure
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, results oriented and continually changing environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly advanced Excel skills required
  • Excellent understanding of ERP and MRP systems
  • Language skills in Spanish and French is a plus
  • APICS certification is a plus
