It’s full-on focus time for the 40 students and young startup hopefuls invited by Louis Vuitton to École 42 in Paris. It’s also the beginning of an intense 48 hours of competition during which they must excel themselves right around the clock. Fourteen mentors from the Maison are there to help and support the eight teams. So what’s the goal of the Maison’s fifth Hackathon? It’s to apply the principles of agility to the task of inventing the ideal in-house search engine that will help our sales teams meet the expectations of our customers even more effectively.
Students and startup hopefuls will be working on the basis of the Test-and-Learn model. Every idea must be conceived, tested and tested again. Louis Vuitton’s mobile development, sales and innovation specialists will be on hand to advise and guide these talented young competitors. Everyone will be sharing their experience, exploring new technologies and grappling with new problems. The teams will unveil their projects in the early morning. After two days of total commitment, both competitors and mentors will be enormously impatient to know the results.
For the winning team, it’s just the beginning of a new adventure that will see them developing their project in and with the Maison so that the new search engine is ready to go live this March. For some of these talented young people, the experience will be extended to include an assignment at Louis Vuitton, with new challenges in store.
